Technical Sales Engineer – Middle East and African Region

Sonihull antifouling systems use the power of ultrasound to protect the inside and outside of marine vessels and structures from
unwanted marine growth.

Unlike conventional antifouling coating systems, Sonihull does not release poisonous biocides that kill marine organisms or use ablative coatings that leave microplastic pollution in their wake. Sonihull keeps surfaces clear using ultrasound-induced non-inertial cavitation, which disrupts the biofouling process and actively prevents barnacle and mussel attachment.

The Role

  • To grow sales within the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Southeast Asia as defined.
  • Frequently engage with potential and existing customers from Commercial Shipping, Oil & Gas, Maritime,
  • Port Maritime Operations, Shipyards, Leisure Marine and Moorings & Marinas.
  • To obtain a thorough knowledge of the market we operate in.
  • To build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • To utilize the experience within the business to find relevant solutions, and then present the potential Solutions to the customer.
  • To follow up on all enquiries provided by cold calling, telephone, website, or exhibitions.
  • To establish and develop ‘Resellers’ within the sales region.
  • To investigate and if required to assist in gaining approval from the ports, free zones & membership groups within the region to maximize our presence.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets and collaborate with the sales team.
  • Weekly reporting on sales activities to the Sales Director.

Role Responsibilities

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the sales process from finding new leads, and negotiations to closing the sale.
  • Must be organised and structured with a clear methodology for winning sales.
  • Must have a hunter mentality but also understand key account management.
  • Ability to travel one to maximum two weeks per month.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Min 5 years experience as a Technical sales engineer or Sales manager in: Commercial Shipping, Oil & Gas
  • Maritime, Port Maritime Operations, Shipyards, Leisure Marine Sector and Moorings & Marinas.
  • Preferable Technical knowledge of working systems aboard vessels such as tankers, containers, ferries, yachts, and Merchant ships, Passenger liners, Cargo ships, Offshore fleet.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close – sales focused and drive to succeed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Package and CRM Systems.
  • Excellent in English (spoken and written)
